Does A * AB equal AAA?
Whilst A*AB is the same as AAA in terms of UCAS points (a score of 144), universities are under no obligation to accept candidates with grades that don’t match their entry requirements. To understand the system better, it’s worth explaining how UCAS points are calculated.
Is a * a * b same as AAA?
If the offer is AAA and you get A*A*B then you have failed to meet the strict offer which is an A grade in all your subjects.
Can I apply to AAA UNI with ABB?
If your predictions are AAA, then you will be considered. If they are ABB, no you won’t be considered. This is for two reasons – 1) History is a competitive course – all Unis can be picky about who they accept, 2) Any Uni asking for AAA can be VERY picky.
Can you get into Oxford with a * AB?
Oxford with A*AB? If the offer from Oxford would be AAA they are unlikely to accept you with A*AB (from experience of friends A2 results!) and so if you are to apply I reckon you would need to at least retake a History module or two (how far were you from an A in that?) to try and improve your grades.
Can I apply to UCL with a * AB?
We welcome applications from students offering A Levels and other equivalent qualifications. Our entrance requirements are based on three A Levels. Depending on the degree programme, we make standard offers in the range A*A*A–ABB.
Can I study medicine with AAB?
We require GCSE Grade B/6 or above, or AS level Grade B or above, or Core Maths Grade B or above, or equivalent. If you are taking the EPQ alongside your A Levels, our offer is AAB at A Level (including Biology and Chemistry at Grade A) and A in the EPQ.
Can I get into Oxford with AAA?

Can I get into Oxford with average GCSEs?
Yes, your grades will need to really dazzle. GCSEs are seen as evidence of work ethic – and you need a really strong one of those to cope with studying at Oxford or Cambridge. Our guesstimate is that the average successful applicant has around eight 8/9 grade GCSEs under their belt.
Is a * BB the same as ABB?
In terms of UCAS points AAB = A*BB. But in terms of meeting an AAB requirement you are correct, an A* elsewhere in your subjects doesn’t offset the fact that the B misses the A offer requirement.
Can you get into Russell Group with ABB?
The top universities in the Russell Group such as Cambridge and Oxford will require a minimum of AAA and above to apply for most courses. Other universities in the group may require a minimum of ABB, depending on the course.
Can I get into St Andrews with AAB?
Where AAB at A-Level is required we will ask for A in the Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate and AB at A-level or B in the Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate and AA at A-level.
Does Cambridge accept a * a * b?

Can you get into Cambridge with A * A * A?
The entry requirements for its most competitive courses, including Medicine, Computer Science and Architecture, are A*A*A-A*AA. Unlike many other universities, Cambridge also looks at your previous academic track record when deciding who to offer places to.
IS A * AA enough for Cambridge?
Cambridge usually requires A*A*A for most sciences courses and A*AA for arts courses or 40–42 in the IB, including core points, with 776 at Higher Level. AAA is usually required at Advanced Higher grade, for students in Scotland.
Can I get into UCL with ABB?
UCL has a benchmark entry level of ABB at GCE A level and does not make offers of admission with any grades lower than B. 5.
Is UCL harder to get into than kings?
UCL is generally better than KCL for the following reasons: It is a bigger and better research university. It enrols slightly more talented applicants. It has a higher bar of getting in.
Do Unis accept lower grades?
You may find that your grades fall short of the entry requirements you needed for your university offer. Don’t despair yet! There’s still a chance a university will accept you with lower grades if you narrowly missed the mark (though trying your luck with three Cs when your offer was ABB probably won’t work).
Can I apply to med school with a * AB?
For entry on to the Standard Entry Medicine programme, the majority of universities request AAA at A Level, although some do accept AAB or specify that a grade B will be accepted if an A*A is achieved for two science subjects.
Does Oxford accept AAB?
Conditional offers will usually be for AAB if a student is able to take three Advanced Highers; where this is not possible then a student would be expected to achieve AA in two Advanced Highers, as well as an A grade in an additional Higher course taken in Year 6.
