Generally, men can wear shorts every day but need to have dressy clothes for going out. It is typically too hot to wear jeans and they are not acceptable attire for going out.

Drinking of liquor / alcoholic beverages is banned in all public places from 10.30 pm to 7 am. Public places are places where a person has free access (e.g. carparks, canteens, parks etc). Contravention can attract fines of up to $1,000 and repeat offenders may be fined up to $2,000 and jailed up to 3 months.
