The contactless card payment system at the Tamar Bridge has been successfully installed in the majority of toll lanes. The upgrade means that users who might otherwise pay by cash now have this payment option when travelling across the bridge. Contactless enabled lanes are signed as drivers approach the toll booths.

We have introduced a contactless card payment system in some lanes at the Tamar Bridge. For those who do not use contactless cards we will be introducing a range of some social distancing measures to enable staff in the toll booths to safely process cash.

Can you pay with card at toll bridges?
The following toll plazas also accept card payment by Visa Debit or Mastercard only – M1, M3, M4, M6, N25, M7, M8, Dublin Tunnel and the Limerick Tunnel. Please note the East Link Bridge toll plaza does not accept card payments. The M50 is the only toll road whereby it isn’t required to stop.
