We welcome dogs all year round, but to make sure everyone enjoys themselves, please keep your dog on a lead of 2m or less between 1 May and 30 September. From 1 October to 30 April dogs can be walked on any beach off the lead but please respect others – see doggie do’s, below.

We no longer accept American Express payments. We do not permit dogs inside THE PIG-on the beach, although they are welcome to join you on a stroll around the grounds. Please keep them out of the kitchen garden and away from our animals. We’re the perfect seaside spot for family get-togethers!

Which beach allows dogs at sandbanks?
There is a designated section of the beach that our furry friends are welcome all year round! It can be found at the western end of Sandbanks Beach towards Haven Point and Sandbanks Ferry.
Can you walk dogs on Swanage beach?
Dogs. Please note that from 1st May until 30th September each year dogs are not permitted on the Council-owned Central Beach (Main Beach). However, pet owners are welcome to use ‘Monkey Beach’ all year round which is located between the old Stone Quay and Swanage Pier.
