Can you take food waste to the tip Leeds?
Dispose of your food waste in your black bin or a home composter. This is a limited service operating in the Rothwell and south-east Leeds area only. There are currently no plans to expand the service to other areas.
Do I need a permit for the tip Leeds?
They’re not a tourist attraction, so we ask you to show your resident permit when you visit the sites (it’s a circular sticker you put in your car window.) If you don’t have a permit you can now apply for one online! You can also donate items to charity at our sites!

When sinks, toilets and baths are cracked, badly chipped and cannot be re-purposed or re-sold they can be disposed of at Recycling Centres.

Smaller household appliances like irons, toasters, kettles and vacuum cleaners.
Can you put shredded paper in recycling Leeds?
Shredded paper can’t go in your green bin, as it damages the machinery at the sorting plant. You could consider composting it, using it as packaging if you’re selling something on ebay, or pop it in your black bin.

You need to book an appointment to visit a centre. Book at www.leeds.gov.uk/recyclingsites No booking, no entry. Here’s an insider tip – Seacroft, Meanwood and Middleton have been booking up fast but there’s plenty of slots going at Kirkstall. Sites will be open on bank holiday Monday.
