Social workers should not practice, condone, facilitate, or collaborate with any form of discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, political belief, religion, immigration status, or mental or physical disability.
The helpline team will make a report and share information with social services. They might also contact local police if the child is in immediate danger. If the helpline don’t need to make a referral, they’ll give you advice on what you can do or information on local services.
You can find out how to complain and what the SSSC can investigate on its website. The SSSC might want you to make your complaint to the local service that employs the worker, but you don’t have to. If you can make your complaint directly to the worker’s employer, it might be resolved more quickly.
