How easy is it to park in York?

How do you do tap and go?
How does it work? Tap and Go is widely available in locations where you see the new contactless icon. To save you time, tap or insert your contactless bank card at the entrance barrier and again as you exit. Your card will be recognised at both points.
How do you pay in ANPR car park?
Find a pay machine, enter and search for your vehicle registration number. The system will know when you arrived with us, and therefore charge you only for the tariff band corresponding to the time you’ve stayed with us.
How does York Park and Ride work?
York’s Park & Ride services allow you to travel to York by car, park for free in secure car parks and complete your journey into the city centre by bus. Please note that due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation Poppleton Bar Park & Ride is not operating. The other five sites are open as usual.

Visitors are required to pay for parking at York Hospital between 7.30am and 8.00pm. The car park operates on a barrier/pay on exit system and payments can be made by cash or card.

Parking for over 2 hours is only allowed after 3.00pm. 1 and 2 hour charges apply every day from 8.00am to 6.00pm, except for Priory Street where the charges on Sunday do not start until 1.00pm.
