Can you go on the London Eye at night?
It’s especially nice to experience the nightfall, with the lights of the city, at the London Eye. To do this you should start the ride shortly after sunset (link with times below). Usually the queue times are not too long in the evening hours. The ride duration is around 30 minutes.
How early do you have to be at the London Eye?
We advise you arrive around 30 minutes before your Standard or Fast Track experience during off-peak periods. If you are visiting us during a peak period, we advise you allow more time, as the attraction will be busier.

The London Eye is busiest between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. during the UK school holidays, and is quieter at the beginning and end of their opening hours, which vary throughout the year.

Bottled water is permitted onto the London Eye, however no hot food is allowed onto the London Eye. Alcohol is not permitted on the London Eye unless you are partaking in Champagne Experience, and are accompanied by one of our Champagne hosts.
Can you take bags onto the London Eye?
Bags and belongings will be searched [and screened] before being allowed in. This is to ensure prohibited items are not brought into the London Eye. We also carry out enhanced searches where you will be asked to remove all items from your pocket and place them in the trays provided.

The agreement signed by London Eye owner Merlin Entertainments, which also covers the Thames River Cruise, gives Lastminute full naming rights and will see the landmark lit up in the travel brand’s corporate pink colour. Both companies will use the partnership to run experiences and events.

How many pods are on the London Eye?
32 capsules
The Eye has 32 capsules (one for each of the city’s 32 boroughs), but they’re numbered from one to 33. Why? As with many buildings and other structures, there is no No. 13 capsule—whether the superstition about that number is warranted or not, the cars skip from 12 to 14.
Do pods on the London Eye Move?

The temperature-controlled ovoidal capsule can hold up to 25 people in each pod. The wheel rotates at 26 cm per second covering one revolution in 30 minutes. The speed of the wheel is slow enough for passengers to walk on and off the moving capsule at ground level.
