WHAT A levels do I need for PPE at Oxford?
You may apply for PPE having done any combination of subjects at school; it is not necessary to have studied Politics, Philosophy or Economics. History and Mathematics are useful backgrounds, but are not essential. We expect you to have taken and passed any practical component in your chosen science subjects.

Do you need 4 A levels for Oxford?
Oxford University states that: ‘Our courses require students to have not less than three A levels, or other equivalent qualifications. Many candidates do take additional AS levels, A levels, or other qualifications such as the EPQ.
Can you get into Oxford PPE without Maths?
Oxford doesn’t require any specific A-level subjects for PPE, but advises that History and Maths are recommended. However, any university economics programme will require maths, so you’d need to be able to pick up the maths when you start, which is what I’ve been doing.
How difficult is a PPE degree?
The workload of PPE can vary quite a lot depending on some of the module choices you make. However, in general, it probably won’t shock you to find out that the workload for this course is VERY high.

Does Oxford accept 3 A levels?
No, you do not need more than 3 A levels to get into Oxford or Cambridge — if you have an offer of AAA, that is what you need to achieve, although many achieve A* (because they can). I know students with 5 completed A levels at A* who did not receive an offer.
Do Oxford care about A levels?
Candidates with vocational or technical qualifications equivalent to A-levels are welcome to apply, although candidates may need to take additional academic qualifications to make a competitive application.
Can you get into Oxford with B’s?
Do you mean ALL Bs and Cs for GCSE, or a few? I currently have an offer for Oxford despite having two Bs at GCSE, so it’s certainly possible to get in with a few Bs. For my course they actually only looked at your top 8 GCSEs I think, so a few Bs wouldn’t even hold you back never mind kill your application.
Is PPE math heavy?
They were taught separately. I understand that PPE is now taught more quantitatively than before. Thus, maths A level is considered highly advisable, though not strictly compulsory. Further maths is not needed.
Are PPE degrees worth it?
Through this degree, you’ll gain a keen eye into critically thinking about the larger world and especially the social institutions which structure our daily lives. On its own, a Bachelor of PPE is great for students who wish to work in the public sector.

WHAT A levels do Oxford not like?
Like many Russell Group universities, Oxbridge tends to avoid the “soft subjects,” which include Media, Art and Design and General Studies. If more than one of your A Levels is in these subjects, it’s unlikely you’ll receive an interview, even if your grades are high.
How many people get 4 A * s at a level?
But people’s results are usually over-optimistically predicted, there’s no formal data on predicted grades and most people do 3, not 4 A Levels, and people doing 4 are probably going to do well in them. so I’d be inclined to say around 2-3% of people would be precited 4A*, with 1-1.5% actually achieving it.
