All first-year postgrads are guaranteed accommodation in the Weston Buildings by the college sport grounds, where they share a house between six students (4 bathrooms, kitchen and laundry facilities). Provided for 1st and 3rd years; 2nd years live out. All rooms have shared bathrooms and access to laundry facilities.
Most bedrooms have a single bed and share a bathroom/shower with approximately 3 – 5 other students.
Rooms can vary in size, but they are good quality and are furnished – and your child will never have to share a bedroom. Some college rooms have their own shower or bathroom. Many students sometimes choose to study in their room and desks are provided.
Does Oxford have roommates?

Student halls in the UK are usually large blocks of whole flats with a number of rooms inside. It’s very uncommon in the UK for students to be sharing a room with someone else. Rooms are usually single with a shared kitchen and bathroom if an en-suite option isn’t available.

Is it hard to make friends at Oxford?
Essentially, you have to put yourself out there. It can be hard and scary at times, but you’ll find people you click with and will be so thankful that you did! I find Oxford to be a really social place, and you can make new friends at any time. It could be in the bridge queue, at a ball, or a sports game.

Do I have my own room? Yes, most of the time. Some universities have halls with a shared room. If you don’t want to share a room, don’t apply for shared halls.

Generally, there shouldn’t be any major problems with a partner staying overnight. That is, of course, that you ask for permission from your university. However, there could be multiple issues and consequences if you have another person staying with you in your room for a longer period without permission.
Can couples live together in student accommodation?
As long as one of the couple is a student, there’s no problem! Location is particularly important to couples, as a suitable balance is often needed. Partners have different needs, such as the requirement to attend different areas of university campuses or excellent transport links to travel to work, or home to family.
