The M6 will be closed to southbound drivers for three nights while a 10-mile section of the motorway is upgraded to an ‘all-lane running’ smart motorway. National Highways will be starting to install gantries between junctions 23 (Haydock Island) and 26 (Orrell Interchange) of the M6 this month (September 2022).
