Tours take around two hours and can be booked through the Bodleian Libraries. A number of independent operators also offer guided tours of Oxford. A range of general and themed tours are available, as are tours by cycle, rickshaw and bus.

Can anyone go to Oxford?
To apply to Oxford, students would need to have completed, or be studying for, at least 120 points at stage 1 or above, in appropriate subjects. We would expect students to be performing at the highest level, with at least pass grade 2.

Exeter College Chapel services are open to all and provide everyone the opportunity to reflect and to listen to the College’s outstanding choir, irrespective of religious beliefs.

Is it free to attend Oxford?
Students have to pay two costs. This is what is paid for course teaching and facilities. An Oxford degree costs the same as most UK universities. The exact course fee depends on whether your child is a UK (Home fee status) or international (Overseas fee status) student.
Do you have to wear a robe at Oxford?
Degree ceremonies
In all cases you are required to wear full academic dress to your degree ceremony. If not properly dressed you may be refused admission to the degree ceremony and graduated in absentia. For most ceremonies, you will be required to change your academic gown and/or hood during the ceremony.

Oxford is looking for the candidates with the most academic potential, irrespective of their age or background. Just like everyone else who applies, mature students need to demonstrate academic ability and commitment to study.
Can foreigners get into Oxford?
The good news is that the application process is the same for all students and there is no international quota for any of our courses, except for Medicine (please see the guidance for international applicants for Medicine). All applicants must apply via UCAS by 15 October.

Oxford street is very long and you can walk there in about 10 minutes, but if you need to get to Oxford Circus it is quite far.

How many days do you need in Oxford? It is possible to see the main sights and attractions of Oxford in a day but if you are an art or history lover we recommend 2 days to fully explore the cities museums and colleges. Oxford is also a great base for further exploration of Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds by car or tour.
Which is better Oxford or Cambridge for tourists?
Oxford has more of an urban vibe to it. You’ll find photo opportunities around every corner and down almost every street in Cambridge. Oxford has it’s stately buildings and picturesque spots, but as a whole, it’s not as picturesque as Cambridge. Cambridge is also the perfect place for a punting experience.
