Visitors with disabilities are always welcome to Warwick Castle and we operate a free carer ticket for all our disabled guests.

Is Warwick accessible?

We now have a wheelchair accessibility lift which allows guests to get a wheelchair into the ground floor of the Great Hall and State Rooms. Please speak to a member of the History Team at the Great Hall entrance for more information or assistance.

Is there a lot of walking at Warwick Castle?

Once you get to the castle its really lovely walking round the rooms and seeing how they lived years ago. But getting to the castle is a long and rough walk.

Do you have to pay for disabled parking at Warwick Castle?

There are a limited number of parking spaces, close to the castle entrance and reserved for blue badge holders, in both our Stratford Road and Stables car parks. Please note standard parking charges apply.

Can you walk around Warwick Castle for free?

Sadly no. The castle and grounds are surrounded by their on site accommodation the Knights lodges and the car parks which the main car park for daily visitors is a 15 min walk from the castle entrance. You can’t get into the actual castle grounds without bypassing the main ticket entrance.

How long does a visit to Warwick Castle take?

There is a lot to see and do at Warwick Castle – plenty to keep you occupied for the whole day! Take a look at our Explore page to see everything that’s happening on the day of your visit. If you’re in planning a larger group trip then you should allow at least 4 hours for everyone to get a good feel of the Castle.

In Ireland the Parking Permit enables the permit holder to park the vehicle in designated on-street accessible parking bay free of charge for an unlimited duration unless otherwise stated. Generally, all street parking spaces or local authority car parks provide parking at no cost to the Permit holder.

Do you have to pay for the dungeons at Warwick Castle?

Our Castle Dungeon is located within Warwick Castle and is a secondary, additional attraction to our Warwick Castle and Grounds admission ticket and therefore entry for the Dungeon can only be purchase in conjunction with a Warwick Castle Entry ticket.

Is Queen Mary or Warwick better?

Both are excellent choices. Warwick and QMU are well regarded by employers, making you a viable job candidate by the time you finish. From what I understand, Warwick is a better university overall.

Is Warwick or Nottingham better?

Out of the three, the University of Warwick is the best school for economics. It is ranked 4th for the subject in Complete University Guide’s latest rankings. Durham and the University of Nottingham rank at 6th and 12th for the same respectively. To get admission, you will have to apply with a strong application.

Is Warwick better than Glasgow?

Glasgow is the better university for Life Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry, Computer Science, Physics, and Geography. They are roughly the same for everything else, Warwick tending to have the edge.

Can I use my blue badge in Whitby?

Hilda’s Terrace and Well Close Square, although any of the specified zones can be used. There are a number of designated disabled on-street parking spaces in Whitby for Blue Badge holders. These include Windsor Terrace, St Ann’s Staith, Pier Road, North Terrace and Kyber Pass.

Is Robin Hoods Bay suitable for the disabled?

The bay is wheelchair accessible although as this is a beach it may be slightly bumpy. The village is a traffic free zone, from the car parks it is about a 20 minute walk down a very steep hill to get to the shore. The nearest accessible toilets are in the Station Car Park (closed in winter).
