Can you walk a dog in the New Forest?
Dog walking is very popular in the New Forest National Park. It’s a great way to enjoy the fresh air and exercise, and local dog walkers are amongst the most passionate supporters of the New Forest.
Can dogs walk off lead in the New Forest?
To minimise disturbance to local wildlife and livestock, please keep your dogs within sight and under close control at all times. Please use a lead if necassary and stick to paths during ground-nesting bird season (March – July). Please remove dog mess from all areas and dispose of it responsibly.
Can dogs go to New Forest Wildlife Park?
All dogs must wear their harness/uniform and be on a short lead where applicable. Assistance dog identification/registration may be requested. Please ensure your dog does not upset other visitors or our animals .
Is Lymington Beach dog-Friendly?
Just a 10 minute drive from Lymington is Milford-on-Sea, a traditional seaside village with colourful beach huts along a shingle beach where dogs are welcome year round, plus there are plenty of places to shop and eat for humans.
What animals roam free in the New Forest?
Probably the most well-known fact about the New Forest is that it is home to thousands of free-roaming animals. As you travel across the National Park you will see ponies, cattle, donkeys, pigs and sheep. They could be grazing on gorse, wandering through villages or even crossing roads.

Do you have to pick up dog poop in the New Forest?
The New Forest Dog Walking Code, which is promoted by the national park and backed by local groups, urges owners to “pick up after your dog” and put bagged waste in the bin.
Is it OK to always walk a dog on a lead?
Don’tcompletely disregard using a lead to walk your dog because as long as they get enough walking time, this is fine. You should remember that walking on a lead isn’t vigorous as running around, so they might need a little more exercise to compensate for it.
Is it law to walk a dog on a lead?
It isn’t necessary for dogs to be leashed at all times. However, dogs must be kept on a lead in designated pedestrian zones and on land where livestock is present. Councils have bye-laws to show the areas where leashing is required, such as in public parks.
Are dogs allowed at the pig New Forest?
We do not permit dogs inside THE PIG, although they are welcome to join you on a stroll around the grounds. Please keep them out of the kitchen garden and away from our animals. Children are more than welcome at THE PIG, both in the restaurant and to stay.
Are dogs allowed at the Huntsman Brockenhurst?
Yes dogs are allowed but only in one side, not the main restaurant area. Hope this helps!
Can I take my dog to Eden Project?
You can bring your dog to Eden to explore the paths in our Outdoor Gardens. We provide water bowls and an undercover dining area for dogs. Please note that assistance dogs are welcome throughout the whole Eden site.
Can I take my dog to Beaulieu?
Dogs are welcomed at Beaulieu and are permitted within the grounds, but for the benefit of other visitors we do require that they be kept on a lead and under control at all times. Owners are also asked to ensure that no mess is left within the grounds where it will be offensive to others.
Are dogs allowed at White Plains?
Don’t run, skate or skateboard. Use our benches and chairs for sitting only. aid animals, such as Service Dogs. NOTE: Weapons of any type, in view or otherwise, are not permitted at Galleria at White Plains.

Are there bears in New Forest?
Well, to be accurate, it is a forest, and you won’t spot bears, but you will find New Forest ponies. I have been visiting Hampshire for many years and still think one of the best things to do in the New Forest is to drive through and see the free-roaming, wild ponies.
Can you touch animals in New Forest?
The New Forest is well-known for its roaming ponies, donkeys, cattle, pigs and in some places, sheep. For their safety and your own please don’t feed or pet them; there is plenty of natural food and it’s best that they don’t come to rely on people’s attention.

They may look friendly but they can bite and kick, especially ponies with foals. Keep your distance! Remember, too, that these animals are not tame – the gentlest looking pony can also kick and bite and children are particularly vulnerable to them.

Is Looking Glass Falls dog-friendly?
The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. A short, family-friendly walk to Looking Glass Falls. Many people wade and swim in the pool below.
