Chester Racecourse will introduce a new entry level ticket price at £10 for all fixtures next year, including the much-loved three-day Boodles May Festival. The £10 pricing policy will sit alongside a number of other changes and concessions to encourage racegoers to enjoy a great value day out.

There are almost 800 parking bays available across the two car parks. Both car parks offer parking free of charge on certain days.
Do you have to wear a suit to Chester races?
Gentlemen are required to wear a well-tailored suit or a blazer with smart trousers, together with a shirt, collar and tie. Ladies are required to wear smart dress. No denim jeans of any colour, no trainers, no shorts, no sportswear and no fancy dress will be permitted.

Children are welcome in all of our enclosures except the Edinburgh Gin Garden and Winning Post Enclosure which are adult only enclosures. For general admission tickets children aged 17 or under are admitted free of charge and do not require a pre-booked ticket.

How much is parking in Chester?
If you come to Chester regularly you can buy a season ticket for the car park for £6.76 a day. Alternatively for up to one hour it costs £3.50, up to two hours it’s £6.50 and up to four hours it costs £10. For those who want to stay for the day between four and 24 hours costs £17.
Can I wear jeans to the races?
Wear whatever makes you comfortable. During the regular work week, most people at the races have on jeans and t-shirts. If you’re going on a big race day and don’t want to dress up, stick with a comfortable pair of pants and polo shirt. That goes for ladies and gentlemen.

Can ladies wear trousers to the races?
Where once dresses were your only option, jumpsuits and elegant formal trousers are now acceptable at most racing events. For formal events, jumpsuits and trousers will need to be full-length rather than cropped. So, it’s always best to double check the dress code if you’ve decided to opt away from a dress choice.
Can you take water into Chester races?
Trespassing on the racetrack, except at designated crossing points, is disallowed at all times. d) Please observe the designated no drinking areas. Food and alcoholic beverages cannot be brought into any Racecourse enclosure, except the Open Course and car park picnic area (please see the rules in the Appendix).

Why can’t I use my pass on the Park and Ride? These services are not registered local bus services, they are known as ‘premium services’. The difference being that they only stop at a small number of designated stops and no fares are taken on the buses.
