No, we do not recommend swimming in the lake at Poole Park. The lake is busy with water craft, including kayaks, dinghies and pedalos.

Yes, it is possible to paddleboard in the lake at Poole Park. During the summer months there is a watersports hire facility, where you can rent a range of equipment, including SUP’s, kayaks, canoes, windsurfing boards, sailing dinghies and pedalos.

Are there dolphins in Poole?
According to the Dorset Wildlife Trust, the most commonly seen is the Bottlenose Dolphin. However, others seen in the region include common, striped and white-beaked dolphins. The sighting follows the RNLI posting a video of a dolphin in Poole Harbour from three years ago earlier this week.
