How do you stay safe at Reading Festival?

Thefts from tents are common, so don’t bring anything that you’re not prepared to lose. If you have to bring valuables there are on-site lockers available. Only bring as much cash as you need to get you through the day and keep cards and ID on your person.
Do they search your bag at Reading Festival?
CCTV recording is in operation throughout the festival site for public safety and crime prevention. We strongly advise you do not bring a bag into the Arena as there will be long queues while all bags are searched. If you do wish to bring a bag into the Arena please ensure that it is no bigger than A4 sized 8.27”x11.

If you are found in possession of drugs you may be arrested and are liable to prosecution and/or may not be allowed to go into the festival. If you are found with drugs once on site, you may be ejected and/or arrested. If you are prosecuted for a drugs offence, you will get a criminal record.

Reading and Leeds Festival stipulate that anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. Greenbelt Festival will only admit under 16s if they are accompanied by someone over 21, and 16-18 year-olds need written consent from a parent or carer, with their contact details written on wrist bands.

Is there a limit on how much alcohol you can bring to reading?
There is a limit of 24 cans and a 1 litre plastic bottle of spirit or wine per person. Any alcohol in glass bottles must be decanted into plastic bottles. Cans can be mixed (e.g. 12 cider and 12 lager) and they may be loose (not in a crate) but must not exceed 24.
