Accommodation is usually allocated on a first-come, first-served basis – and some unis can’t guarantee all first-year students a place in halls.
How is accommodation allocated at Leeds university?

If you applied by 1 July deadline and chose us as your firm option we will begin to allocate your accommodation after your offer with the University becomes unconditional, usually on results day. You don’t need to contact us if you have already applied for accommodation with us.

Can you reject student accommodation?
Submitting an application for accommodation is not a contract, and it does not guarantee you a place. Students may later either decline or accept an offer.
Are UCAS applications first come first served?
You can still apply after 25 January, however, universities judge applications that come in after the deadline on a first-come, first-served basis. This means they don’t equally weigh each application as they would if submitted by the UCAS deadline.
How long does it take for Leeds to give offers?
We typically receive a high number of applications to our courses. We aim to make decisions on applications submitted by the January UCAS deadline by the end of March.

Is there curfew in uni accommodation?
Although on campus living tends to be without curfew, you will not be expected to going out very late at night due to disturbances caused t other students in your block. On campus, you are also not allowed to make much noise, so parties in your room are pretty much forbidden.
Can friends stay in my uni accommodation?
Generally speaking, there shouldn’t be a huge problem if a partner, or even a friend, comes to stay with you overnight. That is of course, that you make your uni aware that there is another person in your room with you.
Is it better to stay in uni accommodation or private?
Overall, it’s all about preference. If you’d rather be living in the middle of the city, with all its energy and excitement, private accommodation might be for you. If you’d like to be close to university buildings and campus, you might be better off living in university halls.
Do universities know your first choice?
They only find out when you have decided which offers to accept, or if you have no live choices, for example, if your application is unsuccessful, or you decline the offers you have.
Does it matter what order you put your universities in on UCAS?
There’s no preference order and your universities/colleges won’t see where else you’ve applied until after you reply to any offers you get.
