What are the rules for towing a caravan in France?
French caravans also have their own registration document (certificat d’immatriculation), where the PTAC will be shown in section F2. It is possible to tow some larger caravans if the combined PTAC of the car (which allows for baggage and passengers) plus that of the caravan does not exceed 3,500kg.

I done it several times, arrived late at night, checked in and stayed overnight in the coach car park. There are usually a few other motorhomes and vans staying too. It’s great for an early start the next day, but can be a bit noisy especially with the roof up.
What is the speed limit for towing a caravan in France?
Do not exceed 100 km/h. Comply with local speed limits, especially on downhill slopes. Be very careful in windy weather, which can destabilize your vehicle and the caravan or trailer. If the car plus caravan or trailer is more than seven metres long overall, drive no closer than 50 m from the vehicle in front.
