How far is too far to walk a dog?
Most dogs can handle 5 km (3 miles) without extra training but need at least a month to get up to 20 km. Walks above 5 km should always be followed by a light rest day. If you go too far too quickly you could cause all sorts of muscle, tendon, ligament, joint or bone problems.

Absolutely! It’s a long walk in and out though, almost 3 hours back and forth, so be sure your dog has the stamina, and be sure to bring along water and a bowl for your dog to drink from. Otherwise, you can always just take a 30min walk in and leave after, it will still be a fun hike!
