How does Oyster card work for students?
If you’re 18 or over, a full-time student and living in a London borough, you may be eligible for a 30% travel discount on most Transport for London (TfL) services with an 18+ Student Oyster photocard. The 18+ Student Oyster photocard can be used to purchase discounted weekly and monthly season tickets.
Can Uni students get 16+ Oyster?
The university is unable to endorse or approve applications for the 16+ Zip Oyster Card. This is due to the eligibility criteria surrounding the level of the award someone is studying towards being below what is offered at the university.
Is student Oyster cheaper than contactless?
Oyster works on the tube, London buses, and overground trains within London. If you have a UK contactless credit or debit card, they will work too – you just use them like an Oyster card – the cost is the same.
