There are no strict luggage limits on trains in mainland Europe. Eurostar allows each adult two pieces of luggage each, each measuring up to 85cm, so large suitcases are no problem. You’ll also be able to take a piece of hand luggage each, as well as pushchairs and prams at no additional charge.

The check-in procedure for Eurostar train journeys takes roughly 20 minutes from start to finish, so it’s recommended that you arrive at least 45 minutes before your Eurostar train leaves.

Does Eurostar have sniffer dogs?
Unfortunately, Eurostar isn’t part of the pet passport scheme, so we only allow guide dogs and assistance dogs on board. Since our trains don’t have space to carry animals comfortably, we feel it’s in the best interests of pets, their owners and other passengers not to let them on the train.
Do they check your bags on the Eurotunnel?

Do they xray bags on trains?
No metal detectors, x ray machines, or the like with Amtrak. You can come and go at Chicago or any other Amtrak station as you please. None of the TSA activity you see at airports. As for baggage, once you hand your bags to the agent, you do not have to handle them until you reach Kansas City.
