Can I study in the Library of Birmingham?
Single and double study rooms are available on Level 2 and are free to use during full service opening hours. You can only book a room at the Customer Service Desk on Level 2. Please be aware that our study rooms are in high demand and are often fully booked during the day.
Can anyone use Birmingham University library?
Guest access allows you to search the University’s print and electronic collections. Access to the University’s subscription electronic resources is not available to external users, but there are a wide range of open access resources available to everyone.
Can I use the library to study?

Do you have to pay to study in a library?
Public libraries are open to everyone and most of their services are free. You can use some library services without becoming a member. In most libraries, you can read books, consult reference material, use the internet and study areas, and print and photocopy documents without being a member.
Can I study in the British Library for free?
Yes, a British Library Reader Pass is free of charge.

Can non uni students go to uni library?
Qualifying UCL alumni and visitors can use UCL libraries, but must complete an online registration form before visiting.
Can members of the public use a university library?
Members of the public may join the library for 3 months or 1 year. These memberships come with a 10 book borrowing allowance. Please note that photographic ID and proof of address are required.

How do I get a library card UK?

Main Library: Do not eat, except in designated areas. Food includes biscuits, crisps and packaged snacks. Do not drink, except from lidded containers. Use designated café areas where provided for eating and drinking.

Can u just walk into the British Library?
Can anyone access the Reading Rooms? Yes, you just need a Reader Pass to use the British Library Reading Rooms. Getting a Reader Pass is free and enables you to request items from our collection to view in the Reading Rooms.
Where Can UK citizens study for free?
Currently, any British student can study at a university in any EU or EEA country (Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein), provided he or she fulfils the entry requirements of that institution. If the home students do not pay any fees, the UK students are also entitled to study for free.
