You can drop off donations at any of our shops but only during shop opening hours – please do not leave them in the shop doorways. We do offer a free collection service for donations of furniture – and if you have any home accessories, bags of clothing or small electrical items we can collect these items too.

Yes some charity shops will wash clothes. I have worked in one and someone very close to me also works in one. BUT, as it’s an expense to them to wash, they will normally only wash them if they feel the clothes are quality items or quality brands that will sell.

Your donated items support Emmaus. As a charity, we accept donations of second-hand items to sell in our shop and help fund our community home. Donated items are given a new lease of life when sold in our three charity shops in Plumstead, Poplar, and Lee.

We accept donations of good quality furniture. We can only take donations of sofas and chairs if they have a fire label, as otherwise we’re not allowed to sell them on.
