What grade level is A2?
Students usually complete the AS Level in their second to last year of high school and the A2 Level in their final year. Both AS and A2 Levels are designed to be year-long courses. You can sit for the exam two times each year. The first is in May/June, and the second is in October/November.

How hard is A2 Level?
A2 Levels are generally harder than AS Levels. They build on the knowledge you learn taking your AS papers. Many A2 Level papers also test on the content covered in the AS papers. For example, business studies A2 exams require you to recall knowledge from AS business studies.
What does A2 mean in education?
The second part is known as an A2 or A2 Level, which is generally more in-depth and academically rigorous than the AS. The AS and A2 marks are combined for a full A Level award. The A2 Level is not a qualification on its own, and must be accompanied with an AS Level in the same subject for certification.

Is a distinction a fail?
A distinction is usually the highest grade on the grading scale. It is equivalent to A or A+. Students who obtain marks above 75% usually get distinctions – students who have put in real effort and show brilliance in academics.

They’re not totally fluent, but it’s not a huge struggle to understand what they’re getting at or generally communicate with them. Reaching B1 from A2 takes about 200 hours, so you’re looking at roughly 450 hours of work from scratch.
