However, the Tower of London is an historic building with difficult stairs and passageways and wheelchair access is limited.
How do you get around disabled in London?
Step-free stations and vehicles
Buses can also be lowered to reduce the step-up from the pavement. Around a third of Tube stations, half of Overground stations, most piers, all tram stops, the Emirates Air Line and all DLR stations have step-free access. Many boats have boarding ramps to give step-free access.
Can wheelchair users go on London Eye?
Yes, the London Eye is fully accessible. However, due to health and safety we are only permitted to allow entry to two wheelchair users per pod and eight on The London Eye at any one time. Therefore to avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend booking your tickets in advance.

Where can I use my disabled badge in London?
Blue Badge parking on the red route
Vehicles that are being used by Blue Badge holders and displaying a Blue Badge can also park in parking bays that are available to anyone. Blue Badge holders can often stop or park where others cannot.
Can I use my disabled bus pass in London?
You can get a bus pass for free travel if you’re disabled. Passes from councils in England can be used anywhere in England: at any time on a Saturday, Sunday or bank holiday. from 9:30am to 11pm on any other day.
Do wheelchair users pay on London buses?
All wheelchair and mobility scooter users travel free on buses and trams.
Can you take a mobility scooter on a London bus?
In order to be allowed on a bus, a scooter cannot be higher than a class 2 scooter, meaning it cannot exceed speeds of 4mph. The second key criteria to meet regards size. A mobility scooter cannot be any larger than 100cm in length and 60cm in width.
Do London black cabs take wheelchairs?

Does the Tower of London have a lift?

There is a lift in the White Tower which takes visitors to and from the basement. For reasons of safety we can only permit one wheelchair user in the basement at a time. Please ask a member of staff in the area for assistance.
How long does it take to visit the Tower of London?
Most people who choose to visit the Tower of London will spend at least 15-30 minutes in line waiting to see the Crown Jewels. Plan on setting aside at least 45-60 minutes for the entire experience. Many visitors recommend setting aside at least 3 hours to see the entirety of the Tower of London.
Are the Pyramids wheelchair accessible?
Able-bodied tourists are able to go inside the pyramids, into the excavations and opened chambers, but these are not wheelchair accessible. For the wheelchair traveler, the views are limited to the outside of the pyramids, but the streets and partially accessible sidewalks can get you fairly close to Khufu and Khafre.
Is Buckingham Palace disabled friendly?

Is my Blue Badge valid in London?
If you’re a Blue Badge holder there are several options available to you. These include places to stop to set down or pick up passengers and parking spaces which are reserved solely for the use of Blue Badge holders. However, the standard entitlements of the Blue Badge do not apply in parts of central London.
Can you park on double yellow lines with a disabled badge in London?
Badge holders may park on single or double yellow lines for up to 3 hours, but in general not where there are restrictions on loading or unloading – indicated by yellow kerb dashes and / or signs on plates.
Can Blue Badge holders drive into London?
If you hold a valid Blue Badge, you can apply for exemption from the congestion charge in London by paying a £10 administration fee. You can register up to two vehicles that you would normally use to travel within the charging zone.
Can disabled people travel free in London?
Travel free on bus, tram, Tube, DLR, London Overground and Elizabeth line. You can travel free on TfL services with your Older Person’s Freedom Pass from 09:00 weekdays and anytime at weekends and on bank holidays. If you have a Disabled Person’s Freedom Pass, you can still travel at any time on our services.
What does a disabled Freedom Pass entitle you to?
Your Disabled Freedom Pass allows you to travel in Standard Class on most local rail services in London, during the following times: Monday to Friday from 9.30am and until 4.30am the following morning. at any time on weekends and public holidays.
