The oldest parts of the cathedral date back to 1093.
The site had previously been used as a place of worship during Saxon times, but the Benedictine monks were the first to build a church there in the Norman style. This Norman influence can still be seen in the north transept, the north tower and parts of the cloister.

Is Grosvenor Museum free?
Admission to the museum is free, however we welcome a suggested donation of £3 per person. The Grosvenor museum opened in 1886, built on land donated by the first Duke of Westminster.

Tickets are available on the day direct from the Guide: £10 per person; up to two under 16s free with accompanying adult. Please note, there are multiple steps along the way. The Walls Walks takes place every Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm until the end of October 2022. Allow approximately two hours.

There is a slight ramped pathway to gain access to the walls here, opposite Little Roodee car park on Grosvenor Road. This access point also provides information on the walls route.
