Are Derbyshire tips open?
Stonegravels Household Waste Recycling Centre is provided by Derbyshire County Council. Find out what you can take and what you can’t take on Derbyshire County Council’s website. The Stonegravels site is open daily, including weekends, from 8.30am to 6.00pm, except for 25th and 26th December, and 1st January.
Do I need to book to go to my local tip?
To visit one of our household waste recycling centres (HWRC) you must book a slot in advance.
Can I just turn up at raynesway tip?
All visits to Raynesway HWRC must be pre-booked. Without a booking you will be turned away. Booking a visit to Raynesway HWRC is only available to residents who live in Derby or Derbyshire. Anyone from outside the city or county, or from a commercial property or organisation, will not be able to book and visit.
Who can use purton tip?
Only residents under the Wiltshire council can use the Purton Household Recycling Centre. You can check your local council here. When you do visit, please bring proof of residency with you (for example, a drivers licence, Council tax bill etc) as you may be asked for it on arrival.
Is Derbyshire discretionary fund open today?
Applications are made via the telephone to the Derbyshire Discretionary Fund team. Their phone number is 01629 533399 and they can be contacted Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm.
Can I take a bed to the local tip?
Take your mattress to the local tip
If you have a vehicle large enough to transport your mattress, you can take the mattress to the tip. However, it may just end up as a landfill, so you may prefer to pay up and let the council collect the mattress, or you might wish to take the mattress to a recycling centre.
Does my local tip Take sofas?
Most tips or Local Recycling Centres, as they’re officially known, will happily accept your sofa and, where possible, will recycle or reuse as much of the sofa as possible.
How do I get rid of books?

Can I take washing machine to local tip?
Recycle. This is our favourite option. If you have suitable transport available and you’re able to safely handle your old washing machine, you can take it to your local recycling centre, so they can responsibly dispose of it for you.
Do you still have to book a slot for the tip Derby?
You must have a pre-booked time slot. No booking, no entry – this is to help us reduce delays and congestion on surrounding roads and to keep staff and visitors safe. The number of people allowed onto the site at one time will be limited so that social distancing is maintained.
Can I take divan bed to tip?
You can take your mattress to the tip, but this option is extremely labour intensive, and you will require a van to transport it. Some local tips will require you to have a permit, too, so it is worth checking online if you choose to go down this route.
Can you take carpet and underlay to the tip?
Can I dispose of carpet and flooring waste at the tip and will they recycle it? If you’re a householder with a car, you can dispose of your carpet at the local tip.
Can you take duvets and pillows to the tip?
Aside from the take back scheme below, duvets and pillows are generally not recyclable and should be disposed of in the waste bin or at a Recycling Centre. However, some animal charities may be able to use these items for bedding – check locally.

Can I take a toilet to the tip UK?
You can take toilets and bidets to all household waste recycling centres. All toilets are accepted at the household waste recycling centres. Depending on what it is made from, it can be placed in the following: Ceramic in the hardcore and rubble skip (chargeable)

We cannot make more than 3 awards for emergency cash payments to the same person within a 12-month period. We have a limited amount of money and all applications will be assessed on the basis of need, urgency and risk.
