Drugs dogs will be searching at all gates and anyone found attempting to bring drugs into the site may be refused entry via our new gate review teams. The contents of legal highs are toxic, even plant-based ones. They are untested on humans and they do kill.
Is there security at Reading Festival?
Our security staff are there for your safety – please cooperate with them as they work to keep us all safe and sound. Some are covert, but most are obvious by their green or white tabard. Always go to them if you need help.

What you can and cant take to Reading Festival?
Only food for personal consumption can be brought into the Arena. We only allow sealed water under 500ml, as well as empty reusable plastic and metal bottles of any size into the Arena. Please refill your empty bottles at the water points inside the Arena for free.
Do bags get searched at Reading Festival?
CCTV recording is in operation throughout the festival site for public safety and crime prevention. We strongly advise you do not bring a bag into the Arena as there will be long queues while all bags are searched. If you do wish to bring a bag into the Arena please ensure that it is no bigger than A4 sized 8.27”x11.
What happens if you get caught with drugs at Reading Festival?
If you are found in possession of drugs you may be arrested and are liable to prosecution and/or may not be allowed to go into the festival. If you are found with drugs once on site, you may be ejected and/or arrested. If you are prosecuted for a drugs offence, you will get a criminal record.
Can you take drugs into Leeds Fest?
Leeds Festival does not condone the use of drugs. It is illegal to buy, sell or take drugs. Drugs enforcement laws are as applicable onsite as anywhere else in the UK but we want our festival goers to know above all else that you can come to us for help without fear of getting in trouble at any time.

Can someone else use my Reading Festival ticket?
Every individual customer arriving at Reading Festival must present their own ticket (Weekend Ticket or Day Ticket) on their own phone so even if you booked tickets for friends, you’ll need to Transfer them before you arrive at the festival.

There is a limit of 24 cans and a 1 litre plastic bottle of spirit or wine per person. Any alcohol in glass bottles must be decanted into plastic bottles.
What happens if you fail a drug test on site?
Depending on your company’s policy, failing a drug test could lead to disciplinary action or you being dismissed. If your company has a zero tolerance policy to drugs, just the positive test could be seen as ‘gross misconduct’ and you could be dismissed immediately or suspended while there is an investigation.
