What documents are checked on Eurotunnel?
Up until 30 September 2021, citizens of the EU, EEA and Switzerland will still be able to travel to the UK using your national identity card. From 1 October however, you will need a passport to travel to the UK that is valid for the duration of your stay. A driving licence is not a valid document for travelling abroad.
Where are customs on the Channel Tunnel?

No you are not usually asked for these at the Ferry Port, but you MIGHT be asked at Customs. This to prove you are not “trafficking” or “money laundering” with vehicles (it does happen even despite the LHD/RHD issue).

The UK side was then filtering all traffic from our lane, closest to the “random” extra security check zone, to be “randomly” checked with swabs of steering wheel and door handles for contraband (one assumes explosives, drugs, and so on).
Why do you have to open windows on Eurotunnel?
A member of staff will place chocks against the wheels to aid immobilisation. Open all doors, windows, air vents and skylights. This will allow all announcements to be heard and the automatic fire extinguishing system will be effective in case of fire on board your coach.
Can I take sandwiches through Eurotunnel?

Do they bring the check to you in France?
This is not a French custom for meals. Usually you ask for the bill and they bring it along with the devise to take your credit card so you can pay right then.
Is there customs between UK and France?

How does customs know what you bought?
In some cases the custom officers can see if something is bought on your trip or brought by you from home, by looking at the serial number. Quite some electronic devises keep a log of serial numbers, country where it was sold, etc.

Does Eurostar have sniffer dogs?
Unfortunately, Eurostar isn’t part of the pet passport scheme, so we only allow guide dogs and assistance dogs on board. Since our trains don’t have space to carry animals comfortably, we feel it’s in the best interests of pets, their owners and other passengers not to let them on the train.
