Can you take food and drink into the Tower of London?
To help protect our palace, food and drink is not allowed within the confines of any of the buildings except in designated areas.
Is there a dress code for Tower of London?
There is no official dress code, but ensure that it is respectful and also that you are comfortable, as you cannot sit down anywhere and you will be doing some walking on the cobbled streets inside the Tower. Make sure your clothing is weather appropriate.
Can I take a rucksack into Tower of London?
Please note that we are unable to offer bag storage or a cloakroom on site, but you will be able to take your belongings with you. We only allow bags with a size 45cm x 20cm x 25cm. Any larger items will not be allowed in the Bridge.
Is there a cloakroom at the Tower of London?
The Tower of London does not have any cloakroom/left luggage facilities. There are unisex baby changing facilities in the New Armouries café. Please ask a member of staff for details.
How much time do you need at the Tower of London?
You’ll want to set aside at least 2 hours for a visit to the Tower of London, but you can easily spend 3-4 here if you take the Beefeater tour and want to explore all of the nooks and crannies.
Can you take a packed lunch to the Tower of London?
All coats, bags and lunches must remain with your group at all times. We recommend that school groups use the Tower Shop which is at the exit after their visit. The White Tower, Beefeater and Jewel House shops are not suitable for groups of more than 10 due to their small size.
