The London Eye is designed to operate safely in almost all weather conditions, although occasionally – mainly due to the comfort of guests, we may decide to close the wheel.
Does the London Eye operate in the winter?
The London Eye operates daily, except for Christmas day. The hours are seasonal, and generally range from 11:45 until 4:45 in the winter months, to 10:45 until 7:45 in the summer months.
Does the London Eye run all year round?
The London Eye is open daily except for Christmas Day (25th December) and during our annual maintenance period.
What is the best time to go on the London Eye?
Best Time to Visit the London Eye
The early London Eye opening times from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM has a lot of crowds, so it’s best recommended to go right when the London Eye opens or just before it closes.
Is it better to go on the London Eye Day or night?
The London Eye is busiest between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. during the UK school holidays, and is quieter at the beginning and end of their opening hours, which vary throughout the year.
Does London Eye shut in high winds?
Weather conditions and wind speeds are constantly monitored within our ride control area and therefore if there are high winds/severe weather conditions, we may make the decision to temporarily close the London Eye.
How long is the average wait for the London Eye?
We ask guests to anticipate queues of around 45 minutes for Standard tickets, a queue time of around 20 minutes for Fast Track ticket holders. Please note, these timescales can increase during peak periods.
Is London Eye worth it in the rain?
The best time to do the London Eye is on a clear day. That sounds obvious, but it’s important because it’s not really worth a ride on a cloudy or rainy day unless you just particularly like riding large Ferris wheels over rivers.
Is London Eye heated?
Yes – the pods are completely enclosed and climate controlled to offer an enjoyable experience whatever the weather!
How many times do you go around on the London Eye?
A leisurely rotation in one of the 32 high-tech glass pods takes approximately 30 minutes and gives you an ever-changing perspective of London. If you can’t wait to get up in the sky you can skip the queues with a fast-track entry ticket.
What do you wear to the London Eye?
We do not operate a dress code for visiting the London Eye, however we would recommend dressing accordingly for the weather.
What happens if you are late to London Eye?
We understand that circumstances beyond your control can result into you arriving to the Coca-Cola London Eye later than your arrival time slot. If you are running late, please speak to a member of our team onsite and they will endeavour to ensure your entry at the next available time.

We have been on it many times over the years and the London Eye views (on a clear day) are spectacular. Yes, it can be expensive, but there are often London Eye discounts (we will mention a few later in the post) and it really should be on your list of London things to do.

Is there wind in the eye of the storm?

Is it cheaper to book London Eye in advance?
There are three different types of admission to choose from. A standard ticket (advanced booking) is essentially general admission, allowing you to get on the London Eye. Same-day tickets are more expensive, so you actually stand to save money by purchasing admission in advance.
Does London Eye stop at night?
The London Eye is open from 10:00h to 20:30h in June, July and August. The rest of the year: 11:00h to 18:00h.
