The services of The University of Manchester Library are available to the following users:

Can you drink alcohol in uni library?
No food deliveries or alcohol are permitted, except for special library events where refreshments are supplied. Please dispose of your own rubbish and recycling in the bins around the libraries and avoid putting liquids in them. If you spill anything, please notify Library staff as soon as possible.
Can you do research at a university you don’t attend?
It’s not necessarily a problem that you’re not enrolled in the university – it’s possible for researchers to hire non-students in many cases. However, it would be difficult to get someone to take you on when you don’t want to make any commitment (e.g. get an official job).
