Can you pay cash on UK buses?
People should always have a means of payment for their bus journey and we are happy to accept cash or contactless card payment.
How much does a bus cost UK?
London buses are all cashless, so you need an Oyster card, Travelcard or contactless payment card to ride. Bus fare is £1.65, and a day of bus-only travel will cost a maximum of £4.95. You can transfer to other buses or trams for free an unlimited number of times within one hour of touching in for your first journey.
How do you pay for public transport in the UK?

What happens if you don’t tap off the bus?
What happens if I forget to tap off? You will be charged the single fare to the end of the route, so always remember to tap off in order to pay the correct fare.

Like Oyster card you need a contactless card for each person travelling and you cannot use contactless payment for child fares.
How much is a 1 day travel Oyster card?
A Visitor Oyster card costs £5 (plus postage) and is pre-loaded with pay as you go credit for you to spend on travel. You can choose how much credit to add to your card: £10, £15, £20, £25, £30, £35, £40 or £50.
Is it worth buying an Oyster card?
The best reason to get an Oyster card is cost savings and convenience! It is significantly cheaper to travel in London using an Oyster card than it is to purchase individual tickets for each trip.
