Is 75 a distinction in university?
A distinction pass in your Matric results means that you did well. This can either be for one or more subjects. Distinctions are a mark of 80% and above. These marks are good and help you gain access to university for any course you want.
Is 75 a distinction in South Africa?
For the final standard exams, a ‘normal pass’ is given for an average mark 50%-59%, and a distinction is given for an average of 80% or more.

Is a 75% mark a distinction?
A distinction is usually the highest grade on the grading scale. It is equivalent to A or A+. Students who obtain marks above 75% usually get distinctions – students who have put in real effort and show brilliance in academics. In other words, they are offered for candidates with a high level of achievement.

Is 70% a D+?
A D+ letter grade is equivalent to a 1.3 GPA, or Grade Point Average, on a 4.0 GPA scale, and a percentage grade of 67–69.
Is 70 or 75 a passing grade?
C – this is a grade that rests right in the middle. C is anywhere between 70% and 79% D – this is still a passing grade, and it’s between 59% and 69% F – this is a failing grade.

First-Class Honours (70% and above): a first class degree, usually referred to as a ‘first’ or 1st, is the highest honours degree you can achieve. Upper Second-Class Honours (60-70%): there are two levels of second class degree. An upper second class, known as a 2:1 or two-one, is the higher of the two levels.
