Who is switching on Leyland lights?
Corrie actor Alan Halsall will be switching on the town’s seasonal illuminations at 5.30pm and festivities will finish at 6.15pm. The event will also include a two-minute’s silence in remembrance of all those lost to Covid-19.

Plymouth City Council won’t be picking up Christmas trees from outside your homes but they are bringing wood chipping machines to locations across the city from Monday 7 January until Wednesday 16 January.
Where can I take my Christmas tree in Plymouth?
Registered garden waste customers can put their real trees with their brown wheelie bin on the FIRSTcollection of the season. You can also take Christmas trees to the Recycling Centres at Pinbrook Road (Pinhoe) and Exton Road (Marsh Barton).
