Who started Tramlines Festival?
Co-founded by James in 2009 Tramlines has grown to now being a pivotal date in Sheffield’s event calendar which attracts upwards of 40 thousand people to it’s site in Hillsborough park and has hosted some of the UK and the world’s biggest musical acts.
How many Tramlines are there?
Building on this experience, the team at Method have planned a record-breaking event for 2022, which sold out its 50,000 capacity faster than ever before. The 5-stage event will host a stellar line up including headliners Sam Fender, Kasabian and Madness.
What do you wear to Tramlines?
Pick a quirky pair to stand out from the crowd. Avoid wearing the expensive pair you got for your birthday, as you risk losing them in the crowd. Why is it called Tramlines?
The festival was curated and organised by a panel comprising local venue owners, promoters and volunteers. The name of the festival is inspired by the city’s tram network.

South Yorkshire’s biggest music festival is set to start in Sheffield, with Sam Fender headlining Tramlines 2022 on Friday. A combined attendance of about 110,000 people will be at the three-day Hillsborough Park festival and accompanying fringe events in the city.

Can you take alcohol to tramlines?

Where will Tramlines 2023 be held?
Tramlines will once again take place at Sheffield’s Hillsborough Park following the huge success of the 2022 event. The festival will once again play host to some of the biggest names in British music together with some overseas guests.
