The Cotswold Canals have already become a very popular waterway for canoeing and kayaking. We are delighted that the Stroud Valleys Canoe Club already has regular training sessions on the canal and many other visiting canoeists and kayakers are attracted this new and interesting stretch of water.
Are kayaks allowed on canals?
According to the Canal and River Trust, unpowered craft are not permitted through certain canal tunnels. If you are allowed to use a tunnel, make sure you have a light such as head torch and whistle so you can warn others of your presence, and travel in a group if possible.
