Yes, you can use the library even if you are not a student.
If you are not currently affiliated with the College as a student or employee, you can still use the library as a community user.
Do U of T alumni have access to the library?
As of May 2, 2022, alumni with paid-for library privileges can make in-person use of Robarts Library and Gerstein SIC. Alumni are defined as those who have completed four or more degree credits at U of T, but are no longer a current student. Alumni library access is different from student library access.

Online access to Alumni eLibrary is available. NYU Alumni are granted one visit to Bobst Library, per year, upon presentation of a NYU Alumni card and photo ID. For extended on-site access, alumni may join the Friends of Bobst Library program at a reduced rate.

We allow UCL alumni and qualifying visitors to visit our libraries. All applicants must complete an online registration form and have received an email confirming their Library membership before arriving at the Library to collect a library card.

Alumni are welcome to visit the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center and all campus departmental libraries. An Alumni PennCard or Penn Fund Library Alumni Access card provides access whenever library buildings are open–other than during reading period/exams, when special access policies may be in place.

You do not need to be a resident of New York to get a NYPL library card. However, cards for non-residents are only valid for 3 months, whereas cards for residents are valid for 3 years.
