Does Amtrak provide pillows and blankets?
Just like a hotel! Facial, hand and body towels are all included, and your train attendant will make your bed for you at night and put it away for you in the morning whenever you want. We also provide pillows, but you’re free to bring additional ones. Just remember space is at a premium in our room!
Does Amtrak roomette have a toilet?
Roomettes are private from the rest of the train and come with seats, bunks, and a basic toilet.

Is it worth getting a room on Amtrak?
The roomette offers enough room to sit/sleep, the same meals are included, sleeping in the direction of the train is more comfortable, and its far more economical. Its offers minimal room for carry on luggage (but Superliners have luggage racks on the lower level) and you’ll need to walk down the hall for the bathroom.

The most comfortable seat is the one all the way up front in the locomotive. Yes, some of Amtrak’s trains are Superliners, and they do indeed have two levels. However, only the upper levels connect between the cars. A reserved seat is not an assigned seat.

If your room attendant brings your meals to you in your room, then think about adding more to the tip as you would have left a tip anyway for the dining car waiter.

You may bring your own food and beverages onboard for consumption at your seat or private Sleeping Car accommodations. Watch your step moving from car to car while the train is in motion, as the vestibules can be slippery. Be sure to step over the gap between the train and platform. Leave personal food items and baggage at your seat. Wear shoes at all times and use caution when wearing shoes without rubber soles.

The best place to sit in Amtrak Coach Class is on the upper level. It’s all about the view on the upper level. This is the biggest advantage of sitting in the upper level. You can also move from car to car more freely as there is access from each car on the upper level.
